Learn about the different types of regulator mouthpieces to find the one that best suits your needs. Changing your regulator mouthpiece can significantly enhance your diving experience by increasing comfort and reducing discomfort like sore gums and aching jaws. Here's a look at the various options available:

Standard Mouthpiece:

   - The most common design with tabs on both sides for biting.

   - Suitable for most divers and available in child sizes if needed.

Long Bite Mouthpiece:

   - Features longer tabs that extend further into the mouth, reducing pressure.

   - Preferred by divers on longer or more frequent dives, but might be uncomfortable for those with a short jaw.

Comfort (Bridged) Mouthpiece:

   - Has an extra bridge of rubber for better mouthpiece retention.

   - Not suitable for everyone; some may find it uncomfortable, especially those with narrow mouths.

Cushioned Mouthpiece:

   - Includes small rubber protrusions on the tabs for cushioning.

   - May not be ideal for narrow mouths, as the base rubber could be harder.

Mouldable Mouthpiece:

   - Can be trimmed and molded to provide a customized fit by using warm water.

   - Popular among technical divers and dive professionals spending extended time with regulators.

   - Intended for use on primary second stages, not alternate air sources.

While these options are for replacing mouthpieces on regular second-stage regulators, it's essential to consult the manufacturer if you're using a rebreather. Some mouthpieces may restrict air flow, impacting the rebreather's performance and safety. Make sure to choose the mouthpiece that offers you the most comfort and is compatible with your diving style and equipment.
