Bringing a white light source, such as a torch; allows you to see those true colors of the creatures and reefs.  It also allows you to look into those dark holes to see what's inside, who knows what awesome finds you make.  So even during the day, an LED dive torch is a great accessory to carry; and never forget the 'always have a backup' principle.
